Scare at Epsom as loose dog runs directly into horse's path

Heart-stopping moments unfolded at Epsom when an unleashed dog strayed onto the track, running straight into the path of a galloping racehorse. The jockey involved revealed the sheer panic of the situation, admitting he was praying the horse would emerge unharmed from the sudden obstacle. Loose animals on racecourses present a massive danger to both horse and rider, as even the slightest collision at high speeds can lead to catastrophic injuries. Fortunately, quick reactions avoided a total disaster, and initial reports indicate the horse escaped serious harm. However, the incident once again highlights the ongoing battle racecourses face regarding spectator safety and dog control around active tracks. Epsom Downs is notoriously tricky with public footpaths crossing parts of the venue, making strict control vital during race meetings and track work. Punters and racing fans alike will be relieved that a major tragedy was averted, but this dangerous scare serves as a stark reminder of how quickly things can go wrong on the track.
